Improv for Performance

Thursdays, 7-9:30 PM.
Sept. 16 through Dec. 4, 2014

Class fee: $200

Instructors: J Chachula and Dan Sipp

Ages 15 – Adult

Older teens and adults come together to explore creative possibilities in this unique course co-taught by area actors/improvisors J Chachula and Dan Sipp. J will lead students through the first four weeks teaching improv fundamentals while exploring personal point-of-view and life experience. Students will then use those skills to craft simple, grounded scenes. Dan will then take over for the next four weeks introducing group work and teaching how to weave themes and stories into a long-form performance. Dan and J then join forces for the final two weeks preparing this improv performance ensemble for their live public show!

Performance: Thursday, December 4 at 8:00pm

The class is also appropriate for artists of other disciplines, and even non-performers (such as writers) or anyone who has the desire to have some fun, break out of a rut and acquire some useful skills.

Class size is capped at 14 students.
