Third Date is improvisational theatre directed by Open Mind's own Dan Sipp. The group was Dan's brainchild and served as an example of Open Mind's unique style of improv. Third Date Says Goodbye... Since 2013, audiences have raved about Third Date's unique style of improv. Third Date shows were a comic and sometimes bittersweet exploration of relationships with friends, family, partners, and co-workers. They reflected the joys, surprises, and everyday frustrations of our weird, wonderful world. The ensemble featured Jenny Spencer, J Chachula, Nancy Pekar, and director Dan Sipp. Early incarnations of the group had as many as six players and the occasional guest that included the talented work of Jane Allen Wilson, Chuck Givens, Sarah , Eric Singdahlsen, and Dana Marks. Saturday, May 4, 2019 After our beloved Jenny Spencer Hailed by audiences as “hilarious and moving,” "smart and funny," and "thought-provoking and creative," Third Date presented hour-long improvised pieces based on a single audience suggestion. Here's what audiences are saying:
WOW!! Third Date Rocks!!! : ) Moving, funny, real... I'm grateful for a truly human evening. Nancy, Jenny, Dan, J, I echo Steve's Bravo! Never expected to get life coaching wisdom at an improv show, but I felt like I did when J said, "What's the picture of my life today that I want to look at 20 years from now that will make me feel like I do when I look at that picture from 20 years ago?" Excellent guidance for creating the life you want. I will tell all my friends to see the next show. : )
Peace and hugs,
Cornelia
Thanks J Chachula and Third Date for a funny and moving performance. What a great way to spend the evening, Saturday night.. .I INSIST that everyone goes to one of their performances the end of May...you'll thank me...seriously!
Matt
Can't wait for the next Third Date! I so enjoyed the groundedness, the listening, the silliness (especially the serious silliness).
Sheila
That show was great! I felt like I was making discoveries about how to do improv throughout the whole hour. I think that you and Dan should do a course on how to do that style improv for your advanced students.
